George Peter Opondo Kaluma, the Member of Parliament for Homa Bay Town, has announced his intention to contest a recent court ruling regarding the registration of an LGBTQ advocacy group and the definition of sex used in the case.
In a press conference, Kaluma criticized the Kenyan judicial system’s stance on homosexuality, stating that it weakens efforts to combat it.
Kaluma expressed his determination to appeal the court’s decision, emphasizing the need to reaffirm the traditional definition of sex as male and female determined at birth.
He also stressed the importance of passing the Family Protection Bill to address what he called “LGBTQ issues.”
“We have to return the SC and petition the court to reverse it’s decision,” Kaluma said during a press briefing, “We must get the court to reaffirm the tradition definition of sex, which is male and female determined at birth,”
The MP stated that Kenya must pass the Family Protection Bill as soon as possible in order to put an end to the “LGBTQ madness.”
“Our success before the courts will not be easy, but it’s the right thing to do, to save humanity,” he added
“We must expedite the enactment of the family protection bill, to bring this madness to the end
The MP expressed frustration with the delay in considering a bill he sponsored in the National Assembly, which aims to criminalize same-sex relationships in Kenya.
He claimed that the bill was supposed to be reviewed within thirty days but remains unaddressed.
“The bill is meant to forbid the push to enact homosexuality in our country,” the MP added.
“We are engaged in a war, not only to save our society but also saving humanity from extinction.
The war is not easy, we are fighting people who are very rich, but the war must be won,”
Kaluma disclosed that he has received threats regarding his ability to travel to countries where same-sex relationships are legal.
Despite expecting challenges, he remains steadfast in his commitment to the cause.
“I have even been threatened that I will not be given visas to travel to the countries that have allowed this perverted thing,” he added.
“Even when I went to court, I went knowing that we are going to lose, even as we go back, we are only going to embarrass them, but we will win this war,”

The contentious bill proposed by Kaluma seeks to ban homosexuality, same-sex unions, and any LGBTQ-related activities or advocacy in Kenya.
It also aims to restrict funding for LGBTQ initiatives by various groups.
As an advocate for traditional family values, Kaluma outlined penalties in the proposed act, ranging from imprisonment to death for those involved in same-sex relationships or advocacy.
