Hotel Operator Found Murdered In Embu


Police in Mbeere North Sub-County, Embu County, launched investigations into the murder of a local businessman whose body was found lying in a pool of blood along a rural road on Monday morning.

According to the police, residents alerted authorities after discovering the body of Njiru Mugao in Kamishara Village, Ndurumori Location.

Preliminary inquiries revealed that the deceased had left his home at around 4:30 a.m. on June 1 to travel to Ishiara Town, where he operated a hotel business.

His wife informed investigators that he had departed for work as usual before his body was later discovered on a murram road.

Police found the deceased lying on his back and dressed in a black striped trouser and a black-and-white top.

He had sustained several deep cuts to the head, including a wound above the right eyebrow, as well as multiple bruises on the head, indicating a violent attack.

The scene was processed and documented by investigators before the body was transferred to Embu Level 5 Hospital Mortuary, where it will be preserved pending a post-mortem examination.

Detectives have launched investigations to establish the circumstances surrounding the killing and identify those responsible.

No arrests had been reported at the time of filing the initial report.

Meanwhile, police in Kimaeti Sub-County, Bungoma County, arrested four suspects following the discovery of the body of a 43-year-old man who is believed to have been murdered.

A team of police that responded to the scene found the body of Robert Nyongesa Situma lying on a footpath in a supine position.

The deceased had visible injuries on the head and neck, which investigators suspect were inflicted using a blunt object.

Preliminary investigations established that Situma was last seen at the homestead of a woman in the village shortly before his death.

Police processed and documented the scene before launching investigations that led to the arrest of four suspects.

The individuals are being held in custody pending their arraignment in court.

The body was moved to the Bungoma County Referral Hospital mortuary for preservation and a post-mortem examination.

Detectives have commenced investigations to establish the circumstances surrounding the killing and the motive behind the suspected murder.
