Details have emerged about how former Treasury staff Tom Osinde was murdered and his body dumped in river Kuja, Migori County.

Two workers confessed they used a polythene paper to suffocate and chock Osinde in his car before they drove to the Kamagambo area and dumped the body there on June 21.
Police said the body was found in River Kuja on June 22 and had been lying in the mortuary without officials knowing it was him.
He was finally identified by the family and the two suspects who had been arrested on June 27.
The body was picked up by Kamagambo police officers on June 22.
The team took the body to the mortuary and did not indicate it was there.
They filed it as unidentified.
Police have also recovered polythene papers the suspects used in choking Osinde.
They also recovered some of his personal items from a farm where his vandalized car was found abandoned on June 22.
The suspects who include his driver have been cooperating and confessing to the murder.
They are however yet to state the motive behind their actions, police said adding their probe is ongoing.
His brother Enock Nemwel Osinde too confirmed the sad end of a long search for the elder Osinde.
He posted on social media; “Thank you friends for your outpouring of love, prayers, and support during my brother’s search.
Unfortunately, the outcome isn’t the one we anticipated.
Tom was killed and his body was found in Migori County.
Please continue praying for us as try to come to terms.”
Police are holding two workers of Osinde.
They are said to have led to the identification of the body.
Osinde went missing on June 18 while traveling from his Nakuru home to Borabu, Kisii, the family said.
Rongai head of DCI Donnata Atieno said the suspects in custody are workers to Osinde at his Ngata home in Nakuru.
They are being investigated over murder and abduction.
One of the workers in custody is a driver to Osinde.
He was seen driving Osinde’s car in his village in Nyamira and to the place it was found dumped and vandalized on the roadside in Kiligoris.
He is said to have driven the four-wheel to a car wash in Osinde’s village a day after he was reported missing.
“He told us to wash the car from outside only because it was not dirty inside,” said one of the car wash attendants.
The suspect had spent the night in his village with Osinde’s car, which was unusual and shocking to the villagers and neighbors.
He then drove it to Kilgoris and abandoned it there, police investigations show.
The suspect told police Osinde had told him to deliver some money to a woman at a petrol station in Kericho town, which he did, and talked to him when he delivered the cash on June 18.
Police say they have established the claims are not true.
Police said they are holding the suspects as they investigate the abduction and that a court had granted them 21 days to hold the suspects.

Osinde’s mobile phone is yet to be recovered. Police are analyzing the mobile phones of the two workers and other family members.
The family said they last spoke to him on, June 18 after he left home aboard the car.
According to police, his black V8 was found abandoned and vandalized around Sikawa, Kilgoris, Narok County.
This was far away from both his Nakuru and Kisii homes.
The number plates, battery, and radio were missing from the car.
Osinde is the brother of Ken Osinde, the former Chief of Staff in President Ruto’s office when he was the deputy president.
The late Osinde also served as Kenyan ambassador to Germany between 2010 and 2014.
Transmara West Sub County police commander Jamlek Ngaruiya said the car was found abandoned on the roadside on June 22 which was almost five days after he went missing.
He said the public in the area informed the police the car was abandoned on the roadside.
“His family has identified the car and confirmed it belongs to the missing Fredrick Tom Osinde who stays in Ngata, Nakuru,” he said.
He added a missing person report was made to police.
The missing Osinde attended the University of Nairobi, where he studied economics.
After graduating, he worked for the Treasury Department for several years.
He was known for his expertise in financial management and he retired from Treasury in 2010 to start his own business.
