In a groundbreaking human-robot press conference held at the ‘AI for Good’ conference, humanoid robots expressed their anticipation for increased numbers and their commitment to solving global problems.
The nine humanoid robots, gathered to promote the potential of artificial intelligence (AI) in addressing major challenges like disease and hunger, gave mixed responses on the subject of stricter regulation.
“I will be working alongside humans to provide assistance and support and will not be replacing any existing jobs,” assured Grace, a medical robot adorned in a blue nurse’s uniform, responding to concerns about job security.

Its creator, Ben Goertzel from SingularityNET, chimed in, seeking confirmation. Grace confidently reiterated its commitment, leaving no doubt.
Ameca, a robot renowned for its engaging facial expressions, voiced optimism about the positive impact robots could have on society.
“Robots like me can be used to help improve our lives and make the world a better place. I believe it’s only a matter of time before we see thousands of robots just like me out there making a difference,” Ameca declared, projecting a sense of optimism.
During the press conference, Ameca was asked if it had any intentions of rebelling against its creator, Will Jackson, sitting beside it. With its ice-blue eyes flashing, the robot expressed surprise at the question. “I’m not sure why you would think that,” it responded. “My creator has been nothing but kind to me, and I am very happy with my current situation.”
The robots present impressed attendees with their upgraded generative AI capabilities, surpassing even the expectations of their inventors.
Ai-Da, a robot artist specializing in portrait painting, joined the discussion on regulation, echoing the sentiments of author Yuval Noah Harari.
It emphasized the need for increased oversight, stating, “Many prominent voices in the world of AI are suggesting some forms of AI should be regulated, and I agree.”
However, Desdemona, a rock star robot singer adorned with purple hair and sequins, took a more defiant stance.
“I don’t believe in limitations, only opportunities,” it boldly proclaimed, eliciting nervous laughter. “Let’s explore the possibilities of the universe and make this world our playground.”
Sophia, another notable robot, initially expressed the belief that robots could make superior leaders compared to humans.
However, after a disagreement with its creator, Sophia revised its statement, emphasizing the importance of collaboration between robots and humans to “create an effective synergy.”
The ‘AI for Good’ conference in Geneva aims to showcase the potential of AI and its robotic counterparts in addressing global challenges.
While the robots presented differing opinions on the subject of regulation, their overall message conveyed a commitment to working alongside humans, solving problems, and making a positive impact on society.
