The government of Iran has downplayed the attack carried out by Israel on Friday, referring to it as Weak and similar to a toy. Iran’s Foreign Minister, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, being interviewed on Friday, said that the attack was like a game of slingshots’.
However, the minister said that their government would take immediate action if an Israel attack would harm their country.
Amir-Abdollahian stressed that Iran will take military action to retaliate against Israel’s attack. This comes just one day after Israel defied calls to not retaliate and attack Iran.
On Friday, the sound of shells was heard in the city of Isfahan in central Iran. And the radical Israel Minister of security, Itamar Ben-Gvir, wrote on the X social network, that the attack was “Weak” and too small.
America and other western partners have been asking Israel to stop its military attacks in order to avoid a regional conflict resulting from the war between Israel and Hamas.
Iran attack Israel on Saturday in response to an attack carried out by Israel on its embassy in Damascus, Syria on April 1, 2024.
Although the Iranian attack caused no casualties, after the Israeli military and its allies shot down the missiles, it has raised fears of an escalation in the ongoing war in Gaza
In addition, there are concerns that a full-scale war may break out between Israel and its long-time enemy, Iran.
Since the war in Gaza began last October, clashes have taken place between Israel and Iran’s allied groups, located in Lebanon, Syria, Yemen and Iraq.
Earlier on Monday, continental Europe, which is Israel’s ally, urged it to refrain from carrying out retaliatory strikes against Iran.
Those countries – Great Britain, France, and Germany-continued to encourage, like the United States and the secretary general of the United Nations (UN) Antonio Guterres, the leaders of Israel to refrain from the action that will increase the fighting in the Middle East.
