Jambojet Airlines has extended an apology to its passengers following flight delays on Thursday morning, which were caused by a fuel supply issue at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA).
The fuel shortage led to delays across all Jambojet flights departing from the airport, causing significant disruptions to travel plans.
In a public notice, the airline assured its customers that the fuel supply issue had been resolved.
“Our fuel provider has fixed the problem, and we are now in the process of refueling aircraft in preparation for boarding,” Jambojet said.
The airline emphasized that it is working to get all delayed flights back on schedule as quickly as possible.
However, Jambojet warned that despite the resolution, some flight services might still experience delays throughout the day.
These residual disruptions could affect both departures and arrivals, as the airline tries to manage the backlog caused by the morning delays.
Passengers are advised to remain patient as Jambojet works to restore normal operations.
On a positive note, the airline confirmed that flights departing from Mombasa have not been affected by the fuel supply issue and are operating according to schedule.
Travelers flying to and from Mombasa can expect their flights to proceed as planned, with no interruptions.
Jambojet expressed sincere regret for the inconvenience caused to its customers, stating, “We deeply apologize for any inconvenience caused by these delays, and we are doing everything possible to minimize further disruptions.”
Jet fuel at JKIA, like other major airports, is supplied by various licensed companies.
The fuel shortage, while temporary, highlights the importance of a reliable fuel supply chain in ensuring smooth airline operations.
Jambojet is working closely with its suppliers to prevent such disruptions from occurring again.
