In Kakamega, a 34-year-old woman is undergoing treatment at Kakamega General Hospital with police protection, accused of throwing herself and her two-year-old twins into the Isukhu River at the Shinyalu and Lurambi border in Kakamega county.
The woman’s family, led by her grandmother Lilian Itsiambo, states that she left her Mukulusu home to attend a burial event in her rural home.
Shockingly, they later received reports that she had been seen jumping into the river with her babies.

Although locals were able to rescue the woman, tragically, the babies were swept away in the current.
The body of the female child has been recovered, while efforts are ongoing to find the body of the male child.
Desperate for assistance, the family is urging well-wishers to come forward and help in the search for the missing child.
Kakamega OCPD Valerian Obore mentioned that the woman was saved by someone conducting business in the river.
The incident remains a tragic and heart-wrenching event for the community.
