Narc-Kenya party leader Martha Karua said Tuesday that Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition Party will resume their anti-government protests on Thursday.
Karua said the protests will be based on the same petition that the opposition has against the government.
“We are marching on. Tomorrow we take a break and recharge. Our protest shall resume on Thursday, May 4. Same Petition,” Karua said.
Martha Karua claimed that the government had ordered the immediate withdrawal of security details of the party leaders as well as those of other elected leaders in Azimio.
“Last night Azimio Leaders including Our Leader and Kalonzo Musyoka had their security withdrawn. This is significant because two offices are guaranteed security,” Karua said.
She said goons who attacked and torched vehicles in Nairobi were hired by a group of government politicians led by Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.
“We know they were ferried from Thika for the mission and police were ordered not to touch them,” she said.
A lorry and a matatu were torched in the city In the chaos.
Azimio leaders tricked police and failed to show up for the protests.
