Today, students in class eight and grade six are starting their important exams: the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) and the Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA).
Education officials and exam supervisors are already at the exam collection centers, ready to assist.
President Ruto will be visiting one of the exam centers in Kikuyu, Kiambu County on Monday morning.
Other leaders will also be going to different exam centers to make sure all the exam materials are distributed properly.
Education PS Belio Kipsang wants to reassure all the students that everything is in place to make sure they can take their exams.
He said, “This is our last KCPE and we will not want any child to be disadvantaged. We have directed all officers to ensure all children sit for their exams.”
These exams are significant because they mark the end of the 8-4-4 education system in primary schools.
