Kenya Airways Appoints Image Registrars as New Share Registrar Ahead of AGM

Kenya Airways has appointed Image Registrars Limited as its new share registrar, replacing Custody and Registrars Services Limited (C&R) effective 1 June 2026, in a move that comes just ahead of the airline’s landmark 50th Annual General Meeting.

The national carrier announced the change through a public notice dated 21 May 2026 and signed by Company Secretary and Director of Legal Services Habil A. Waswani. From June, all shareholder services including share transfers, dividend claims, issuance and cancellation of dividend cheques, immobilisation of shares, and other registry-related matters will be managed by Image Registrars from its offices at Absa Towers on Loita Street in Nairobi.

Founded in 1993, Image Registrars has grown into Kenya’s dominant share registry firm, handling more than 63% of all investors and shares traded among companies listed on the Nairobi Securities Exchange, in addition to servicing over 100 unlisted private firms.

The company will also oversee Kenya Airways’ virtual AGM scheduled for Friday, 12 June 2026 at 9:00 a.m. Shareholders are expected to deliberate on several key agenda items including the adoption of audited financial statements for the year ended 31 December 2025, directors’ remuneration, board elections, and the reappointment of PricewaterhouseCoopers as auditors.

The appointment further cements Image Registrars’ growing influence within Kenya’s capital markets ecosystem. In December 2025, the firm successfully secured the share registry mandate for the planned Kenya Pipeline Company IPO after prevailing in a procurement dispute filed by C&R. The transaction is widely viewed as one of the most significant privatisation listings expected on the NSE pipeline.

By bringing Kenya Airways onto its client roster, Image Registrars adds another high-profile listed company to a portfolio that already includes major counters such as Equity Group, KCB Group, Safaricom, and Kenya Re.
