Kenya Airways (KQ) has successfully addressed the anticipated disruptions caused by challenges in the global supply chain for aircraft spare parts.
The airline had previously cited difficulties in the aircraft spare parts supply chain, leading to extended ground times for maintenance and the potential grounding of one or more aircraft.

However, KQ has reported the availability of the required components as of December 12, allowing for the prompt return to service of the last Boeing 787 Dreamliner, which had faced delays in its release.
In a statement issued on Friday, Allan Kilavuka, the Group Managing Director and CEO of KQ confirmed that the entire Boeing 787 Dreamliner fleet is now operational.
The airline expressed ongoing collaboration with partners and suppliers to expedite the timely delivery of components, aiming to minimize any potential disruptions.
The recovery process across the network is still in progress, with the airline emphasizing its commitment to keeping disruptions to a minimum.
“We continue working closely with our partners and suppliers to expedite the timely delivery of components. This should keep disruptions, if any, down to a minimum. Recovery from disruptions across our network is still ongoing.
Consequently, our flight-deck crew roster has been impacted. However, a disruption management plan is currently being executed in conjunction with our pilots and pilots’ union. We anticipate full recovery during this festive season.,” KQ said in a statement.
