A Kenyatta University student drowned while on a swimming expedition at a PCEA-owned hotel in Makupa, Mombasa.
Churchill Masita, 21 was among a group at the hotel swimming pool when the incident happened on Sunday, June 11 evening.
He was rushed to Coast General Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
Police are investigating the incident.
Police want to understand if the facility had provided guides at the swimming pool.
In Subukia, Nakuru, a farm worker was electrocuted as he worked on a fence.
Kennedy Kemei was pruning a tree when the branches fell on a live wire that was under it.
And when he tried to pull the branch, he was electrocuted, police said.
He was rushed to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead following the Sunday afternoon incident.
In Uriri, Migori, a mother and her son were arrested over the death of her husband aged 57.
The woman and one Nelson Agoro Abok had a quarrel leading to a fierce fight and in the process the said husband succumbed to the injuries, police said.
Police said the deceased’s body was found with a deep cut on the head and left ear.
It was then the woman and her 25-year-old son were arrested for questioning following the Sunday evening incident.
