A Kisii court will on Friday next week move to baby Junior Sagini’s home at Ikuruma village, Marani sub-county.
This will help the court to conduct a hearing from the scene including the cross-examination of the Investigating Officer and one other witness.
Kisii Senior Principal Magistrate Christine Ogweno ordered that the court be moved to the scene of crime ahead of the climax of the hearing proceedings.
Ogweno ordered officers at Rioma Police Station to provide maximum security to the court attendants as well as the three accused persons involved in the matter.
The Kisii Central Police Station OCS was ordered to move the three suspects to Rioma Police Station on the said day to allow them to attend the session.
Alex Ochogo (cousin), Rael Nyakerario (grandmother), and Pacificah Nyakerario (aunt), are accused of gouging out Baby Sagini’s eyes on December 13, 2022, at Ikuruma Village.
The trio was on January 18 charged with attempted murder which later changed to causing grievous bodily harm according to Section 4 of the Penal Code after the prosecution made an application to the court to amend the charges.
Sagini last week told the Kisii Law Courts that his grandmother – Rael Nyakerario – is the one who attacked and gouged out his eyes.
During the virtual cross-examination on March 10, Sagini, three who is under State protection together with his sister, said his grandmother gouged out his eyes using her hands and dumped him at a maize plantation.
