A Member of the County Assembly (MCA) of Kitui is set to be arraigned on Friday for allegedly forging vehicle documents to defraud the House of Sh2.2 million forgery.
Ikanga Ward MCA Cyrus Kisavi Musyoka is said to have presented false motor vehicle purchase reimbursement documents intending to dupe the County Assembly to pay him the aforementioned amount.
However, following a complaint by one Rose Kavithe Ngoima, the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) recommended charges against the MCA and he is set to appear before Kitui Law Courts to take plea on Friday.
“The investigations indicate MCA Musyoka presented documents with the intention of defrauding the Kitui County Assembly of a sum of Ksh.2.2 million that was meant for the MCA motor vehicle purchase reimbursement,” said the ODPP in a statement.
According to ODPP, the MCA is set to face five counts of conspiracy to commit a felony contrary, obtaining registration of a motor vehicle by false pretences and forgery of a valuation report contrary to the Penal Code.
Other charges include uttering false documents and making a false claim by a person involved in the Public Service contrary to sections 353 and 100 as read with 102 A of the Penal Code respectively.
