

On Thursday, the Konza Technopolis Development Authority (KoTDA) introduced John Paul Okwiri as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
The government agency praised Mr. Okwiri as a dynamic and forward-thinking leader who is passionate about making big changes.
He has a proven history of successfully managing large infrastructure and innovation projects using various funding methods.
Mr. Okwiri has been in charge as the acting CEO for the past ten months after his predecessor, Eng. John Tanui, was appointed as the Principal Secretary for the Ministry of Information, Communication, and the Digital Economy.
Now, his role is to provide guidance and leadership to Konza Technopolis as it works towards becoming a major global technology and innovation center.
Mr. Okwiri is well-known for his role in overseeing the completion of Konza Phase 1 Horizontal Infrastructure.
He also played a vital part in establishing the Kenya Advance Institute of Science and Technology.
Furthermore, he secured the 41st International Association of Science Parks (IAPS) 2024 Conference for Konza Technopolis and was instrumental in building a tier 3 National Data Center, which greatly improved Kenya’s cloud infrastructure and data services.
Mr. Okwiri holds an MBA in Procurement and Supply Chain Management from the University of Nairobi, along with a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Accounting.
He is a professional member of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (MCIPS-UK) and the Kenya Institute of Supplies and Management (MKISM).
Additionally, he is a certified expert in the FIDIC Dispute Adjudication Board (DAB).
