The Kenya Universities and Colleges Student Placement Service (KUCCPS) has extended invitations to students for admission to public and private universities across the country.
Minister of Education Ezekiel Machogu unveiled the KUCCPS’s 2024/2025 Planning of Students in universities and colleges during an official release on Wednesday, May 21, held at The Edge Convention Centre- College of Insurance in South C Street, Nairobi.
Joining the minister were Mr. Cyrus Gituai, Chairman of the KUCCPS Board, and Dr. Agnes Mercy Wahome, Executive Director.
According to the report, 85% of KCSE 2023 candidates who achieved C+ and above applied for college placements, with 76.2% opting for degree courses and the remainder (11,991) choosing Diploma programs.
Among degree programs, Bachelor of Education garnered the highest number of applicants.
The data also indicated a gender disparity in program preferences, with male applicants dominating placements in Bachelor programs while female students comprised the majority in Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) programs.
Aspiring students can now access their degree or diploma application results on the official KUCCPS website (https://students.kuccps.net/), which has been promptly updated.
Selected candidates are anticipated to commence their university studies from September of this year, marking the beginning of their academic journey.
