The Kenya Urban Roads Authority (KURA) has issued a public notice regarding a scheduled traffic disruption on Shimo la Tewa Road in Nairobi Industrial Area.
The disruption is set to commence on December 1, 2023, at 6 AM and conclude on December 6, 2023, at 6 AM.
The five days’ disruption is to facilitate the laying of bridge beam girders, a crucial phase in the ongoing infrastructure development project.
The bridge construction aims to enhance connectivity and urban mobility in the region.
Silas M. Kinoti, the Director-General of KURA, emphasized the importance of road users exercising caution and adhering to the provided road signs when approaching the affected section during the period.

“Motorists are advised to drive with caution as they approach the section and to follow the road signs provided,” stated DG Silas M. Kinoti.
He further assured the public that law enforcement, in collaboration with the police, will be present at the site to ensure the smooth flow of traffic and safety compliance during the construction period.
“We apologize for any inconvenience that may be caused as we endeavor to transform urban mobility. Your cooperation is highly appreciated as we work towards the completion of this infrastructure project for the benefit of all road users,” added DG Kinoti.
