Lawyer Morara Kebaso has revealed that his political activism and skits impersonating President William Ruto are financed by Kenyan supporters.
The 28-year-old lawyer, who has gained widespread attention for his nationwide tours to evaluate President Ruto’s projects, stated that his efforts are funded by donations from well-wishers.
In an interview on Citizen TV’s JKLive Show on Wednesday, Kebaso disclosed that he receives financial contributions via M-Pesa from Kenyans both locally and abroad.
These donations, ranging from Ksh.10 to sh.5,000, help cover his travel expenses and support his work.
Kebaso explained that the funds are essential for refueling his car and paying his research assistant as he travels to verify the progress of government projects.
“The people of Kenya are the ones funding my activities,” Kebaso said.
“The government is aware of this, and Safaricom knows too.
Donations have come in from across the globe, and it is these contributions that enable me to continue my work.
I am committed to this cause, and as long as I stay focused, my supporters ensure that I am well-supported.”
Kebaso, who has recently been a vocal critic of President Ruto, alleges that many of the President’s projects are either delayed or have not commenced.
He emphasizes the importance of his role in holding the government accountable, expressing that he is not deterred by concerns about his personal safety.
Despite facing threats and surveillance, including tracking of his phone and unmarked vehicles near his home, Kebaso remains resolute in his mission.
“I recognize the risks involved in what I’m doing,” he acknowledged.
“There have been instances where my phone has been tracked and vehicles with untraceable plates have been seen around my residence.
However, I remain focused on my work despite these challenges.”
