A man was hacked to death in his house by a gang, which escaped amid screams from the deceased’s wife and children in a village in Vihiga County.
The wife of the deceased told police she was in their shop with her husband on July 3 at night as it heavily rained.
It was then that a gang of five raided the shop at Ebuyalu village and started to hack them while demanding cash.
She screamed as the husband joined in the effort to fight off the attackers.
But because it was raining, there was no help that was coming from the neighbors who were a few meters away, police and the woman said.
The woman managed to run out of the shop and left her husband Ibrahim Ondeko aged 27 being attacked.
She later met a team of police officers on patrol who went to the house and found the man already dead in a pool of blood.
Police say they are investigating the incident.
No arrest has been made so far.
