A 24-year-old man died after he was allegedly hit on the forehead with a stone following a disagreement outside a hotel in Nairobi’s Dagoretti area.
The incident occurred on Sunday, September 27, 2026, within the N-Market area, police said.
Police said the incident was reported by Rachael Wanjiru, who operates a hotel in the area. She alerted officers after an unidentified man was found unconscious outside the establishment.
Police officers who responded to the scene identified the victim as Ackrowford Masenya, 24. He had sustained a serious injury to the forehead after allegedly being struck with a stone.
Initial investigations established that Masenya had been buying mandazi at the hotel while in the company of five other people when a disagreement reportedly broke out among them.
The confrontation escalated, with one of the individuals allegedly picking up a stone and striking Masenya on the forehead.
The victim was found lying face down, with blood coming from his mouth and his head visibly swollen. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The scene was documented by the Scene of Crime officers from Dagoretti, while the body was moved to City Mortuary pending preservation and post-mortem examination.
Police have launched investigations into the circumstances surrounding the death and are pursuing the people who were with the deceased at the time of the incident.
And a man was arrested in Kakamega County after a fight at a homestead left another man dead.
The incident occurred on Sunday, September 27, 2026, in the Koyonzo area of Matungu Sub-County.
According to police, two men identified only as Mununga and Fred entered a homestead and began arguing before the confrontation escalated into a physical fight.
The occupant of the homestead reportedly attempted to separate the two men but was unsuccessful. During the fight, Fred allegedly kicked Mununga, causing him to fall unconscious.
The victim was rushed to Jovial Health Facility in Lung’anyiro, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
Police officers visited and processed the scene.
The suspect was arrested and placed in custody pending further investigations.
The deceased’s body was transferred to Butula Hospital Mortuary, where it is being preserved awaiting a post-mortem examination.
