A 28-year-old man died after being electrocuted while installing a Wi-Fi cable in the Milimani area of Kakamega Central Sub-County.
The incident occurred at around 3pm on Thursday, September 24, 2026, while Dennis Kiprono Koros was working with a colleague on a Wi-Fi installation assignment.
According to police Koros was on an electricity pole attempting to fix the cable when he was electrocuted.
He was rushed to Kakamega County Referral Hospital for emergency treatment but was pronounced dead on arrival.
Police officers visited and processed the scene.
Koros’ body was transferred to the hospital mortuary, where it is being preserved pending an autopsy.
Meanwhile, police in Matungu, Kakamega County, have launched investigations into the death of a 23-year-old man whose body was discovered in a maize plantation.
The deceased, identified as Asthman Juma Murei, was found dead on Friday, September 25, 2026, with a deep wound on his back.
Officers from Koyonzo Police Station and detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) visited the scene and found the body with visible injuries on the back and left arm.
The scene was processed and documented before the body was moved to Butula Hospital Mortuary, where it is being preserved pending a postmortem examination.
Police have commenced investigations to establish the circumstances surrounding Murei’s death and identify those responsible.
