A mason was electrocuted after he fell onto live wires in Mowlem, Dandora, Nairobi.
The man was electrocuted as he plastered a house under construction, police said.
Daniel Mukira was on the rooftop of the four-story building plastering it when he accidentally fell on three high-voltage electric cables.
The cables threw him down to the ground floor after an electrocution.
He sustained serious burns.
Locals rushed him to the hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
The body is lying at the Mama Lucy mortuary.
Electrocution has emerged as part of the leading causes of death in most estates in the country.
Officials blame the trend partially on illegal power connections.
There is an ongoing campaign to address the menace mostly in informal settlements.
Elsewhere in Athi River, a man died at a sand harvesting site.
This is after he fell into a cave where workers excavate sand on July 29.
Police said the body of Kyalo Juma aged 26 was discovered in the cave having been hit and covered with rocks and sand.
It is suspected the incident happened after the walls of the cave collapsed.
Police are investigating the incident.
