A 46-year-old man was found dead on a road near his home in Lwara “A” village, Shimba Hills Sub-County, Kwale County, on Tuesday morning in what police are treating as a suspected murder.
Police said the body of Chitumbua Mwakupha Duruma was discovered lying along the road between Mbegani and Derll areas, about 70 metres from his residence.
A physical examination showed blood oozing from his ears and mouth, according to the police report.
The scene was processed and documented by investigators before the body was removed and taken to the Kwale County Hospital mortuary.
The body is being preserved pending a postmortem examination as detectives investigate the circumstances surrounding Duruma’s death and establish whether he was murdered.
And a 47-year-old fisherman who went missing while on a fishing expedition has been found dead in the Indian Ocean off Mkomani Beach in Nyali, Mombasa County.
The body of Peter Mburu was recovered on Tuesday morning after fishermen spotted it floating near the beach landing area.
Mburu had reportedly been reported missing on Monday, September 7, after he went out on a fishing expedition.
Police officers were called to the scene and retrieved the body, which had several wounds believed to have been caused by sea animals.
The body was photographed before being moved to the Coast General Hospital mortuary, where it is being preserved pending a postmortem examination.
Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the fisherman’s death.
Meanwhile, a 43-year-old man was found dead in his house in Muthuini Sub-location, Kieni West, Nyeri County, on Tuesday in what police are treating as a suspected murder.
Police said Alex Mburu Macharia was allegedly assaulted by unknown people at Sky Sana Market Centre before his body was later found lying on his bed.
Police found Macharia’s lifeless body on his bed with multiple injuries. Police also observed blood oozing from his mouth and ears.
The scene was processed by forensic officers before the body was moved to Mary Immaculate Hospital mortuary in Mweiga, where it was preserved pending a postmortem examination.
Police have launched investigations to establish how Macharia sustained the injuries and identify those responsible.
