A 45-year-old man was trampled by an elephant he had tried to drive from his farm in Ganze, Kilifi County.
Police said the incident happened at the weekend in Makolongoni village and involved one Safari Ganje Nyale.
Nyale had gone to chase the animals from his farm as they destroyed his maize.
The elephants later turned and attacked him before crushing him.
His lifeless body was discovered in the area long after the incident had happened, police said.
The body was moved to the mortuary pending autopsy and further probe.
Such incidents of human-wildlife conflict are on the rise in the area.
They are linked to the proximity of the Tsavo National Park in the area.
At least one such incident happens in the area a month amid calls for action to tame the trend.
Locals have called for fencing of the park as part of ways to tame the attacks.
