A middle-aged man was killed in a fire incident in Nairobi’s Ngando, Riruta area.
The fire broke out from a furniture store before it spread fast to other structures.
It burnt down more than 40 structures, police said.
Fire engine rushed to the scene and managed to contain the fire.
It was then that the body of the man was discovered in one of the flattened structures, police said of the Wednesday incident.
The remains were moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy and other procedures.
Elsewhere in Kithimu, Embu County, the body of a man was found floating in a dam after a suspected murder incident.
The body had decomposed when it was discovered on Wednesday evening.
Police suspect he was killed and dumped at the site but the motive is yet to be known.
The body had been tied in a sack and reinforced with two huge stones to ensure it does not float.
The body had a deep cut in the throat and was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy, police said.
No arrest had been made by Thursday even as investigations continued.
In Musoli, Kakamega County, a body of one Tyson Mavihala, 27 was found on the bank of River Yala after a suspected murder.
Police said the body was decomposed when it was retrieved from the water on Wednesday evening.
The body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy and investigations.
Elsewhere in Butere, Kakamega County, police are hunting for a gang that attacked and violently robbed a female teacher in her house.
The teacher told police she was in her house when she was confronted by two suspected thugs who assaulted her before robbing her of her television set and three kilogram of gas cylinder.
The gang escaped with the valuables as the woman was rushed to the hospital for attention.
Police visited the scene and announced investigations had been launched.
