Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) detectives have apprehended an individual accused of demanding a Sh.1.5 million bribe, claiming to act as a Personal Assistant for an unnamed Principal Secretary.
Mark Kipruto Kuto, who purported to represent the said Principal Secretary, allegedly sought the bribe to facilitate the complainant’s appointment as the Chief Executive Officer of the South Nyanza Sugar Company.

Upon the complainant’s report to the anti-graft agency, EACC Spokesperson Eric Ngumbi disclosed the launch of an investigation.
The suspect caught red-handed with the bribe, was apprehended in Nairobi Central Business District (CBD).
At present, he is held at the Integrity Centre for processing and is expected to be transferred to Kilimani Police Station for custody pending formal charges.
