A tragic incident unfolded in the Huruma area of Nairobi on Tuesday afternoon, where 29-year-old John Olando Ambwaye was fatally stabbed while attempting to mediate a domestic dispute between a couple in his neighborhood.
Witnesses reported that the confrontation escalated when Ambwaye intervened after observing the male neighbor physically assaulting his wife.
The assailant grabbed a kitchen knife and stabbed Ambwaye in the neck before fleeing the scene.
Neighbors quickly rushed Ambwaye to a local hospital, but he unfortunately succumbed to his injuries due to severe blood loss.
Nairobi’s police chief, Adamson Bungei, stated that efforts are underway to locate the suspect, while the murder weapon remains unaccounted for.
The injured woman received medical treatment and has since been discharged.
In a separate incident, authorities discovered the body of Sansey Mangeh, a 68-year-old Sierra Leonean national, in his Kileleshwa apartment in Nairobi.
Mangeh had failed to report to work on Monday, October 28, prompting colleagues to express concern when he did not respond to their calls.
A cleaner, after knocking on his door without receiving a response, entered the apartment and found him unresponsive beside his bed.
Paramedics were called to the scene but confirmed that he had already passed away.
Living alone, Mangeh’s body has been moved to the mortuary, where an autopsy will be performed to ascertain the cause of death.
Additionally, in Mundembu village, Nambale, Busia County, police are investigating the brutal murder of 25-year-old Collins Kamano Lubanga.
His body was discovered in a local maize field, bearing multiple deep cuts to his head, chest, and arms.
The police quickly responded to the scene and transported Lubanga’s remains to Butula Sub-County Hospital mortuary, where a postmortem examination is planned.
Authorities are treating this incident as a homicide, and investigations are ongoing with no arrests made so far.
