Police are holding a 23-year-old man who locked his parents in their house in Huruma, Nairobi, and tried to kill them by stabbing them.
Police say they are investigating a case of attempted murder following the Monday, March 13 night incident.
The father of the man called the police saying the man had locked them in the house and wanted to kill them.
Police rushed to the scene and realized the said suspect was acting wild while armed with a knife.
The officers said he was also a notorious mobile snatcher well known.
They attempted to disarm him but he attempted to stab one of the officers present prompting a shooting.
This left one of the officers injured in the leg.
This, according to police, prompted more officers to arrive at the scene and managed to arrest the suspect.
He was booked in custody pending a probe.
The knife he had was kept as an exhibit, police said.
