A man died after he fell from the third floor of a house under construction in Kiambu town.
Police said Simon Ochaka, 56 was among workers partitioning Naivas Supermarket, Thindigwa branch when he fell and died.
Witnesses said he was answering a phone call when he strayed and fell into an open area dying on the spot.
Police and witnesses said he accidentally walked into an open space where the safety grills had been cut to allow the intended partition and fell from the third floor to the first floor of the building.
He was rushed to St. Teresa Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
Elsewhere, a carpenter died after he fell from the fourteenth floor under construction in Nairobi’s Parklands area.
The incident happened at Zamil Construction Limited along City Park Drive and involved Collins Kilonzi Muema.
Witnesses said he slipped and fell down through a hollow opening of the building and died on the spot.
He landed on the ground floor dying on the spot, police said of the July 21 incident.
Such incidents have been on the rise at construction sites with many blaming lack of protection gear for the trend.
Officials say investigations are ongoing.
