A fourth-year student at the Moi University main campus in Keses, Uasin Gishu was electrocuted after an accidental fall.
Shelton Ochieng Odhiambo aged 23 died after he fell from an avocado tree and landed on a live wire under it.


Police said he had climbed on an avocado tree within the house compound, which was near an electricity wire, and in the process, he got electrocuted.
He had climbed there to pick avocado fruits when the incident happened on June 27.
He was rushed to the University health center, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
Cases of electrocution have been on the rise in the past months and officials blame the trend on illegal power connections.
Elsewhere in Ruiru, a man aged 24 was electrocuted in an incident.
The body of Aston Omusiro was found on the floor of his house as he held a water heater on June 27.
The body was moved to the mortuary pending further probe.
In Langata, Nairobi, one Nicodemus Mulwa, 30 was also electrocuted in his house while he was cooking using an electric burner.
Police who arrived at the scene said the connection of the burner was faulty and is suspected to have caused the electrocution.
