A member of the ruling United Russia party, Vladimir Egorov, a Deputy in Tobolsk City Duma, was discovered lifeless in the courtyard of his home, according to local reports.
The 46-year-old’s demise adds to the growing number of Russian elites whose deaths remain shrouded in mystery.
The Investigative Committee for the Tyumen Region in Russia has not found any apparent signs of foul play on Egorov’s body, stating that there are no “external signs of criminal death.”
As an autopsy is still ongoing, the committee refrained from confirming details surrounding the circumstances of his death.
Russian state media TASS confirmed Egorov’s death, emphasizing that he was found deceased in Tobolsk.
An unofficial Telegram channel with ties to Russian security services revealed that Egorov’s body was discovered in the courtyard of his residence on Kedrovaya Street.

While investigators are working to determine the cause of Egorov’s death, the Tobolsk City Duma released an obituary on social media, attributing his passing to “an accident.”
Egorov, who served as the deputy chairman of the Duma, was praised for offering extensive support to those involved in the Special Military Operation and the families of military personnel engaged in the conflict in Ukraine.
Additionally, he was acknowledged for his active participation in the city’s social and political life.
Egorov now joins the unfortunate list of high-profile Russians who have died under mysterious circumstances in recent months.
This includes individuals like Ravil Maganov, the chairman of Lukoil, who died after falling from a hospital window in Moscow.
Another figure, Pavel Antov, a United Russia party member and former sausage magnate, met his end in India after falling from the third floor of his hotel.
Pyotr Kucherenko, a Russian Deputy Minister, succumbed to illness on a plane returning from a business trip to Cuba.
The circumstances surrounding these deaths, marked by suicides and unexplained accidents, have raised questions and concerns, adding an air of uncertainty to the fate of prominent figures within Russian political and business circles.
