National Authority for the Campaign Against Alcohol and Drug Abuse (NACADA) has listed Nairobi County as the leading in consumption of cannabis.
NACADA through a report indicated that bhang is the fourth most abused drug in Kenya trailing only alcohol, tobacco, and khat.
Nairobi led in consumption by 6.3 percent.
Nyanza came second at 2.4 percent, and Coast and Eastern came third and fourth respectively with 1.9 percent and 1.5 percent each.
The report indicated that the national prevalence of cannabis use is 1.9 percent.
Men are leading in the abuse of bhang at 3.9 percent while women are at 0.3 percent.
The increased use of hard drugs, according to NACADA is influenced by online sales.
This comes as top leaders including president William Ruto and his deputy Rigathi Gahagua decry increased alcohol consumption in the country, mostly among youths.
Mt Kenya has been on the radar as women take to the streets for the failed performance of men in their homes.
The authority now recommends that the ADCA 2010 and the Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances (Control) Act, of 1994 be amended to combat online sales of the substances.
