The National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) is set to streamline its services by integrating them onto the e-Citizen platform, with changes taking effect from January 2, 2024.
To facilitate this transition, the Transport Integrated Management System (TIMS) portal will be temporarily shut down from midnight on December 29, 2023, to midnight on January 1, 2024.
During this period, all NTSA online services will undergo integration, consolidating access through the e-Citizen platform.
Starting January 2, 2024, users will need only their e-Citizen login credentials (username and password) to access NTSA services.
NTSA Director General George Njao emphasized that this move aims to centralize access through a unified portal, providing a more streamlined and efficient experience.

To avoid inconveniences, NTSA urges clients with pending transactions on the TIMS platform to complete their applications by December 15, 2023.
Furthermore, all NTSA clients, including motor vehicle owners, financial institutions, insurance companies, dealers, and various organizations, are required to validate their e-Citizen accounts.
For those transacting on behalf of organizations, the addition of specific organizations using KRA PIN Numbers is essential for account validation.
NTSA will conduct virtual trainings and demonstrations from December 18 to 22, 2023, to familiarize clients with the new service flows. The registration process is free of charge and accessible on the NTSA portal.
This initiative aligns with the government’s directive for all ministries to migrate their services onto the e-Citizen platform by December 31, 2023.
Secretary to the Cabinet Mercy Wanjau urged Cabinet Secretaries to raise awareness about the e-Citizen platform’s benefits and the importance of compliance, emphasizing the over 16,000 services available on the platform.
The goal is to ensure a smooth transition and informed public participation in this digital transformation.
