Nyamaiya Member of County Assembly (MCA) and also Nyamira County Assembly Majority leader Osiemo Masira has died on the spot after the vehicle he was traveling in was involved in a gruesome road accident along Mahi mau-Maivasha highway.
Two other MCAs Duke Masira and Pricilla Nyatichi were left with critical injuries on the chest and head leaving one unconscious, they were rushed to Naivasha level four hospital where they are receiving treatment.
The MCAs were traveling to Nairobi to attend a USAID meeting bringing together the Executive and Assembly Committees for Agriculture and Delegated Legislation from the Assembly.
It’s alleged, their driver was overtaking a motorbike that was carrying a heavy load and in the process, it hit the load and lost control, and landed in a ditch.
Nyamira Governor Amos Nyaribo in his condolences said the county has lost a young, industrious leader with immense leadership skills with a political life ahead of him.
“I have learned the demise of the county majority leader with shock and deep sadness,” Said Nyaribo.
Nyaribo took the opportunity to convey his condolences to family, friends, and the people of Nyamaiya ward and also wished those left with injuries a speedy recovery.
