A crane operator died after the machine malfunctioned and landed on him at a factory in Embakasi, Nairobi.
Police said Jackson Manga was operating the crane while loading pillars when the safety pins broke down causing it to crumble.
This trapped the operator who died on the spot.
He was working at the Shaman Company Limited when the incident happened Wednesday evening.
Police were called to the scene and removed the body to the mortuary pending autopsy and probe.
Meanwhile, a man fell off the fifth floor of a house in Huruma, Nairobi, and sustained serious injuries.
This is after he landed on the roof of houses next to the structure.
The victim was rushed to the hospital following the Wednesday evening incident.
He is in hospital in serious but stable condition, police said.
Police suspect the man fell during a fight with a form three student who was later arrested for questioning.
Meanwhile, a 21-year-old woman died by suicide in her house in Tassia area, Nairobi.
The body of Winnie Okello was found dangling from the roof truss of the house with a piece of cloth around her neck.
The body was discovered by the woman’s boyfriend who said he had not established the motive of the June 7 incident.
The body was moved to the mortuary pending autopsy.
