The police in Incheon revealed that Lee had been questioned three times since October in connection to a drug-related probe.
His most recent encounter with the police occurred on December 23, where he was held for 19 hours before being released the following day.
Despite being questioned, all of Lee’s drug tests during the investigation returned negative results, as confirmed by Incheon police.
However, they did not specify the number of tests conducted.
Lee contended that he was deceived into drug use and subsequently blackmailed by the same individual.
In response, he filed a lawsuit against the alleged blackmailer.
The police noted that they received a tip about Lee’s alleged drug use before he took legal action.
As part of the ongoing drug investigation, one man and one woman have been arrested, according to the police.
Lee Sun-kyun gained acclaim for his portrayal of Park Dong-ik, the patriarch of the affluent Park family in “Parasite.”
He also received praise for his roles in the 2007 TV series “Behind the White Tower,” the 2010 series “Pasta,” and the sci-fi thriller series “Dr. Brain,” earning him a nomination for an International Emmy Award.
