Patients at Karungu Sub-county Hospital in Migori County are facing a water crisis.
They have to go to Lake Victoria to get water because the taps in the hospital are not working.
Brian Osodo, who represents Kachieng Ward, talked about this issue during a meeting in Sori town.
He said that the patients have to walk about 20 meters to reach the lake to fetch water for themselves.
This is not good for their health.
Osodo thinks it’s very important to get clean and reliable water for the hospital so that patients don’t have to go to the lake.
He said he would work with the County Department of Water to solve this problem.
Joseph Mahiri, the deputy governor of Migori, also mentioned that the hospital has no water.
He personally visited the hospital and saw the problem for himself.
He said that the county government of Migori is already working on solving this issue, and the hospital will have water soon.
At the same time, Migori town residents are also facing a water shortage for the second week in a row.
Many areas in Migori County don’t have water from the taps.
This is causing problems for the people who live there.
