A man in his forties lost his life on Tuesday, December 26, in a hit-and-run mishap while trying to cross the bustling Nakuru-Eldoret highway.
The incident occurred in the Cheptiret area of Uasin Gishu County.
According to onlookers, the victim seemed intoxicated before he ventured across the road near the Cheptiret bridge.

A speeding car struck him, leading to his immediate demise.
Eyewitnesses mentioned that the vehicle responsible for the collision did not stop and fled the scene.
Stephen Kimunya, the Ainabkoi sub-county police commander, verified the incident on Tuesday, stating that an investigation was underway to locate the driver, who has not been apprehended.
Simultaneously, the body of the deceased has been transported to the Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital Mortuary
