Police have launched investigations into a series of suspicious deaths reported in Nairobi and Nyandarua, including the discovery of a woman’s body stuffed in a sack, human remains in a farm, and two separate drowning incidents.
In the first incident, the body of Jennifer Mutheu Nzula, a 34-year-old woman, was found abandoned in a thicket along Githuguri Road, Utawala.
Police reported that her body had been stuffed into a sack and secured with a laundry cloth cover, raising suspicions of foul play.
The body, discovered on Monday, October 28, bore no visible injuries, suggesting she may have been killed elsewhere before being dumped at the scene.
Detectives are actively pursuing leads to identify the perpetrators, and the body has been moved to the morgue pending autopsy.
Meanwhile, in Kipipiri, Nyandarua County, farmworkers on land owned by Maleshani Limited stumbled upon human remains while plowing near Lereshwa River.
The skeletal remains, including rib bones, vertebrae, and limb bones, are believed to belong to an adult.
The police collected the remains and transferred them to JM Kariuki Hospital Mortuary.
Investigators are coordinating with forensic experts to determine the identity and cause of death, with a pathologist expected to conduct further examinations.
In Kilimani, Nairobi, a 42-year-old security guard, Christopher Juma, was found dead in a swimming pool at an apartment complex.
Juma had been on night duty when he separated from his colleague to monitor the property’s backyard.
Shortly afterward, his lifeless body was discovered floating in the pool.
Authorities retrieved the body and transferred it to City Mortuary, where an autopsy will be performed to establish the cause of death.
Investigators are examining the circumstances around the incident to determine if foul play was involved.
The fourth case involves the body of a middle-aged man, identified as 31-year-old Mutiria John Njagi, found floating in the Nairobi River in Kamkunji.
Police discovered identification documents and a mobile phone in his pockets, suggesting he may have been a recent victim.
The body was taken to the morgue as investigations continue, with no arrests reported thus far.
These incidents have sparked concern among residents, with authorities urging the public to exercise caution and report any suspicious activities.
