Police are investigating two separate defilement cases in Nyamira and Bomet counties involving minors.
In Bomet County, a neighbor is being sought after allegedly defiling a 13-year-old girl in Mogogosiek sub-location, Chepalungu.
The incident was reported after the girl’s mother rescued her from the suspect’s home. The suspect has since fled the area.
The victim was taken to Konoin Sub-County Hospital for medical care and treatment.
In Nyamira County, a 13-year-old girl was gang-raped by three men in Riamoni Location.
The men, who are known to the authorities, reportedly lured the girl with Sh50 before assaulting her in a nearby bush.
Following the assault, the victim was transported to Keroka Sub-County Hospital for medical examination and treatment.
Police from Gesima station are investigating the case and searching for the suspects.
Both cases have drawn significant concern from local communities, emphasizing the need for increased protection for children and swift justice for victims.
Police are appealing for any information that might lead to the arrest of the suspects and are committed to resolving these cases.
