In an intense confrontation with detectives from Kilimani, two infamous criminals who had been causing fear among residents in Nairobi’s Kibera area were fatally shot on Wednesday.
The individuals, known by their aliases Rundo and Mulinyo, were tracked down by undercover agents following tips from the public to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).
Acting on the information received, the detectives located the suspects.
However, upon realizing they were being pursued, one of the gangsters, armed with a firearm, opened fire indiscriminately at the officers.
In response to this dangerous threat, the agile detectives decisively engaged, resulting in fatal injuries to both criminals, as reported by the DCI.
During the operation, authorities seized six rounds of 9mm ammunition, seven spent cartridges, four bullet heads, and the firearm used by the gangsters.
The bodies of Rundo and Mulinyo were subsequently taken to a city mortuary for identification purposes.
This swift and effective action by the police has brought an end to the reign of terror caused by these two individuals in the Kibera community.
