The driver who died in an early Sunday morning accident at the Pangani tunnel on Thika Road, Nairobi has been identified as James Ogola.
He was a mechanic at Fitmax garage, police said.
Starehe sub-county Police Commander Fred Abuga told journalists Ogola was driving his client Joanne Muthoni’s Mercedes

Abuga said Ogola suffered severe burns on his limbs and lower body, making it difficult to identify him using his fingerprints.
His documents had also been burnt in the incident.
Witnesses said after the accident, Ogola managed to get out of the vehicle that had burst into flames but fell about one metre away and died on the spot.
Muthoni has told police she had given Ogola her car on Thursday for repairs.
He was to return it later. He later took it for road tests.
She learnt of the accident through frantic calls and texts to her from people wondering if she was the one involved in the accident.
Ogola was driving towards the city centre from Thika Road when he lost control of the car and hit the pavement and wall at the intersection before the car burst into flames.
Police suspect, he was driving at high speed given the impact of the accident.
said the fire was put out by the Nairobi City County firefighters before the body was moved to the city mortuary and booked as unidentified.
An autopsy was planned on the body while the car is at the Pangani police station.
Police said it was badly damaged.
