Police confiscated counterfeit alcohol drinks Tuesday in two different destinations.
In the first incidence, the police impounded 3,000 bottles bearing fake Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) stamps at Kikima market, Makueni County belonging to Daniel Masau.
This follows a countrywide government crackdown targeting traders evading tax payments.
Three people were arrested in Nyandarua in the second incident in connection with the distribution and sale of suspected counterfeit alcoholic drinks.
A consignment of the drinks and items believed to be used to make the drinks and label them was also nabbed during the operation.
A tip-off from the public managed to apprehend one suspect off-loading some of the drinks from a private vehicle within Ol-Kalou town.
Nyandarua Sub County Police Commander Stalla Cherono said that in Mung’etho village the security officers arrested another suspect in connection with distributing unlicensed alcoholic drinks.
She cautioned residents from taking drinks without verifying their authenticity.
The suspects will be arraigned on Wednesday.
