A 37-year-old person from Poland was caught at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) on Friday.
The reason? He had a bag with heroin inside, which is worth about Ksh.3.2 million on the streets.
The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) shared that this guy named Arkadiusz Stanislaw was just about to get on a plane to Budapest, Hungary when they arrested him. They found the heroin hidden in his bag.
The DCI mentioned, “The trafficker who was destined for Hungary’s capital, Budapest, has since been booked in police cells awaiting further processing and arraignment.”
“Stanislaw’s arrest comes at a time when crackdowns on drug traffickers and unlicensed brewers have been heightened, a move by the government to foil the illicit trade in the country.”
The head of DCI’s Anti-Narcotics Unit, Margaret Karanja, wants to make it clear to drug traffickers that they will be in trouble with the law, no matter what they do in the drug business.
