President William Ruto has announced a series of appointments within various state corporations and agencies, as detailed in multiple gazette notices.
On October 4, the President appointed seven individuals to the Selection Panel for the Public Service Commission, tasked with recruiting nominees for the roles of vice chairperson and members.
The appointees include Arthur Osiya, Oscar Eredi, Nura Mohammed, Grace Kamau, Ruth Ruraa, Nancy Butama, and Elizabeth Chesang.
Additionally, Ruto appointed Victor Munyaka as chairperson of the Kenya Animal Genetic Resource for a three-year term.
James Mureu was also designated as chairperson of the Micro and Small Enterprises Authority, effective October 4, 2024.
In a separate gazette notice dated October 3, the President appointed Donald Murgor as chairperson of the Water Resources Authority for three years, along with Silas Jonyo as chairperson of the Council for the Kenya Institute of Mass Communication.
Joseph Lagat has been appointed as chairperson of the National Mining Corporation, and Bishop Joseph Kagunda will lead the Board of the Anti-Doping Agency of Kenya for three years.
In related developments, Chief Justice Martha Koome has appointed magistrates to handle cases concerning corruption and economic crimes, effective October 8, 2024.
Cabinet Secretaries have also made notable appointments within their ministries.
National Treasury CS John Mbadi has appointed Muchiri Ngatia as a member of the Kenya Institute for Public Policy Research and Analysis (KIPPRA) for three years.
Meanwhile, Information, Communications and Digital Economy CS Margaret Ngundu appointed Daniel Rono to the Board of the Communications Authority of Kenya, while Health CS Deborah Barasa made several key appointments, including Stephen Namusyule to the Kenya Nuclear Regulatory Authority and Ibrahim Matende to the Social Health Authority.
Water, Sanitation and Irrigation CS Eric Muuga appointed Abraham Cheruiyot to the Board of Directors for Lake Victoria North Water Works Development Agency, and Mining, Blue Economy and Maritime Affairs CS Hassan Joho appointed Jawahira Hussein Haji and David Pkeu Kapelishwa to the National Mining Corporation.
He also appointed Micah Lore and Stephen Labarakwe to the Board of the Kenya Fisheries Service for three years.
