President William Ruto recently addressed the notion of serving only one term in response to rumors regarding his future political aspirations, stating that his main goal is to change Kenya, not only to hold office for one term.
“Mimi nakaa term moja kweli?” Ruto posed the question rhetorically, highlighting his emphasis on long-term initiatives meant to better the nation for coming generations.
The president clarified that the main goals of his administration are to improve student education, fully implement Universal Health Coverage (UHC), and build infrastructure, including roads, power, and water.
He emphasized that he is committed to focusing on these areas in order to help the nation advance in important areas.
Ruto also stated in his statements that he is not scared by opposition or political threats.
Critics who have questioned his leadership have remarked, “Those who are threatening my presidency have no idea of what presidential leadership entails,” he said.
Ruto claims that bad leadership in the past, not the people, is the true problem preventing Kenya from progressing.
He said his rivals should hold off on challenging him in the political ring until 2027 because the nation needs capable leadership to bring about transformation.
The president also used the occasion to talk about his administration’s initiatives to enhance the nation’s healthcare system, pointing out that it is progressing more quickly than its predecessors.
Ruto recalled the NARC and Jubilee governments’ earlier endeavors, which included the Big 4 Agenda with a focus on UHC, but he conceded that they were unsuccessful in producing long-lasting changes.
In contrast to the previous administrations, Ruto said, “My government is organized and focused on delivering real change,” stating that it is committed to addressing not just the health sector but all areas of the economy.
He reiterated his resolve to make the most of his time in office in order to implement the reforms Kenya needs to advance. President Ruto stated his confidence that his administration will effectively lead the nation toward wealth and higher living conditions for all Kenyans as he continues to concentrate on national development.
