President William Ruto and First Lady Rachel Ruto have shared heartfelt Christmas and New Year greetings with Kenyans in a special video message.
In his address, President Ruto celebrated the hard work, determination, and dedication of Kenyans, recognizing their pivotal role in the nation’s progress.
“It is clear that the journey towards a stronger, more united, secure, and prosperous Kenya is well underway,” Ruto remarked.
He commended the contributions of health workers, acknowledging their crucial role in ensuring the well-being of the nation.
“Our health workers are the pillars of a healthier future, using their expertise and compassion to ensure that every Kenyan has access to the care they need,” he said.
First Lady Rachel Ruto, in her message, drew from her experience as a former teacher and emphasized the importance of addressing hunger as a barrier to education.
“As a teacher, I understand the challenges of educating a hungry child. A meal can be a source of strength for a child’s future,” she explained.
Continuing with his focus on national development, President Ruto underscored the importance of affordable housing as a key driver of economic progress.
“Each home we build brings us closer to a future filled with dignity, security, and inclusive growth.
These homes are not just structures; they are symbols of hope for Kenyan families,” he said.
First Lady Rachel Ruto encouraged Kenyans to cultivate more organic food, highlighting the benefits of homegrown produce.
“A kitchen garden is a gift that keeps on giving.
By planting your own food, you provide your family with healthy, fresh meals and contribute to your community’s well-being,” she noted.
Turning to environmental sustainability, President Ruto reaffirmed the government’s commitment to tree planting, aiming to plant 15 billion trees by 2032.
“Planting trees is an act of hope. It is a testament to our belief that our actions today will create a better future for us and generations to come,” he said.
He emphasized that the initiative would enhance the country’s forest cover, protect water catchment areas, and combat climate change.
The Rutos closed their message with a call for gratitude, unity, and love.
“This festive season, let us rediscover the power of selfless love,” President Ruto said.
“Together, we are unstoppable in our mission to build a prosperous and united nation.”
They urged Kenyans to spread kindness and solidarity, emphasizing the power of giving.
“Through generosity and compassion, we can achieve great things for our country and warm the hearts of every Kenyan,” they said in unison, wishing all Kenyans a Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year 2025.
