President William Ruto expressed profound sorrow over the untimely demise of Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi, who tragically lost his life in a helicopter crash on Sunday, May 19.
Through an official statement released on X, Ruto extended his heartfelt condolences and unwavering solidarity to the people of Iran during this challenging time.
In his tribute to President Raisi, Ruto hailed him as a courageous leader and devoted public servant, lauding his illustrious career in public service.
“I wish to express my heartfelt condolences and solidarity with the people of Iran at this challenging time,” remarked Ruto,
highlighting President Raisi’s resolute leadership and dedication to advancing Iran’s global stature.
Additionally, Ruto emphasized the cordial relations between Kenya and the Republic of Iran, recalling President Raisi’s groundbreaking visit to Kenya in July 2023, which marked the first-ever trip to Africa by an Iranian President.
