In a separate tragedy on November 15, a gas explosion in Oyugis town, Homa Bay County, resulted in one fatality and left another person critically injured.
The explosion occurred after a fire spread from a shop to a nearby gas store, causing a cylinder to explode and strike a man standing 20 meters away.
Local authorities arrived at the Oyugis scene to cordon off the area for investigations. Both incidents underscore the urgent need for enhanced fire safety measures to prevent such disasters in the future.
