Interior Principal Secretary Raymond Omollo Thursday directed disgruntled police officers to file their complaints with the police Internal Affairs Unit.
This is after several junior officers complained of skewed promotion procedures and unfair salary increments.
“If there are concerns or complaints there are elaborate structures to address that, on issues of promotions and salaries there is the National Police Service Commission that deals with that but also internally there is the Police internal affairs unit to deal with that,” he said.
According to Omollo, a task force on police reforms was still working and they were looking at among others the welfare of police officers.
“One of the issues the taskforce is looking at is the welfare of the police and the taskforce will be presenting its recommendation report to the President next week hopefully those are among the issues that may come out and I don’t want to preempt,” he said.
The officers quietly complained that only senior officers were being favored at the expense of their juniors.
